The standard we hold ourselves to

We measure this site against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.1 at Level AA. That is the target for every page, including the dancer dashboard and the sponsorship flow, not only the public marketing pages.

Where we stand

The status of this site is partially conformant: most of it meets Level AA, and some of it does not yet. We have not commissioned an independent audit, and we have not tested every page with every assistive technology, so we do not claim full conformance and will not until both are true.

What is already in place

• A skip link on every page, and a single named main landmark for it to reach.
• A visible keyboard focus indicator throughout, never removed without a clearly visible replacement.
• Every form field carries a real label, and validation errors are tied to the field they belong to and announced when they appear.
• All motion — the page reveals, the held video frames, the drifting stills — stops entirely when your system asks for reduced motion. Under that setting the background video is never loaded at all.
• The looping background footage also carries a visible Pause background motion button, reachable by keyboard, that stops the video and its drift wherever they appear. You do not have to change an operating system setting to stop it.
• Body and secondary text meet or exceed 4.5:1 against the page, and form field rules meet 3:1.

Known gaps

• The pale rose used for link underlines and hairline rules does not reach 3:1 against the page ground. Links are never signalled by that rule alone, but we are reviewing whether the mark should be stronger.
• No independent accessibility audit has been carried out, and no screen reader testing beyond our own.
• The photographs on the site are generated and illustrative. When real dancers publish their own, the quality of their alternative text will depend in part on what they write, and we will help them write it.

Reporting a barrier

If any part of this site stops you doing what you came to do, tell us. Write to hello@sponsoraballerina.org and describe what happened, which page you were on, and what you were using — a screen reader, a keyboard alone, magnification, anything. You do not need to know the technical name for the problem.

We read every message and we will reply within five working days, with either a fix, a date for one, or an honest explanation of why it is harder than it looks. If a barrier stops you reaching a dancer or completing a sponsorship, tell us that too and we will do it with you by email in the meantime.

How this page changes

When we fix something on the list above, we take it off the list and update the date at the top. When we find something new, we add it. This page is meant to be an accurate account of the site as it is, not a statement of intent.
